Looking Up a Specific Reservation

Start with a reservation ID lookup when you know the SpotHero ID for the reservation. Every lookup also needs the SpotHero facility_id for the location where the reservation was made.

Try this with a test reservation

Before testing these lookup methods, create a test reservation in staging. Use the returned reservation ID to try the get-by-ID request. If you included a license plate in the test reservation, you can also try the license plate search.

1. Get one reservation by ID

Use the Get a reservation by rental ID endpoint. This is an HTTP GET request. It retrieves one reservation and does not need a JSON request body.

GET https://integrations.staging.spothero.com/v2/facilities/cf_01hgh41phpfk8sbdkknw90601s/reservations/3589785
Authorization: Bearer <access_token>

In this example, cf_01hgh41phpfk8sbdkknw90601s is the facility ID and 3589785 is the reservation ID. Replace these example IDs with the IDs for the facility and reservation you want to look up. The reservation ID is unique. In reservation data, it is named reservation_id; in this endpoint path it is named rental_id. You can also use the reservation ID with other SpotHero APIs.

Example response

This endpoint returns one reservation object. It includes the basic reservation details:

{
"reservation_id": "3589785",
"facility_id": "cf_01hgh41phpfk8sbdkknw90601s",
"start_date": "2026-06-05T14:36:00Z",
"end_date": "2026-06-10T14:36:00Z",
"status": "VALID",
"last_modified": "2026-06-05T14:36:12.753623Z",
"payment_info": {
"price": 1200
}
}

status is VALID or CANCELLED. Prices are in cents, so 1200 means $12.00.

2. Search by barcode

If you do not know the reservation ID but have the reservation barcode, use the Get reservations by barcode endpoint. The search is limited to the facility in the URL.

GET https://integrations.staging.spothero.com/v2/facilities/{facility_id}/reservations/by-barcode/123456789
Authorization: Bearer <access_token>

By default, the API returns reservations active at the search time. If you do not provide search_time, it uses the current time. Add all=true to return matching reservations regardless of their reservation time. When all=true, search_time is ignored.

The search can return more than one reservation. Results are ordered newest first. If the response contains a non-null @next, request the URL as returned to get the next page.

3. Search by license plate

If you do not know the reservation ID but have the vehicle's license plate, use the Get reservations by license plate endpoint. The search is limited to the facility in the URL:

GET https://integrations.staging.spothero.com/v2/facilities/{facility_id}/reservations/by-license-plate/ABC123
Authorization: Bearer <access_token>

By default, this search returns only currently active, non-cancelled reservations. Add all=true to return every matching reservation, including past, cancelled, and upcoming reservations.

License plate matching ignores case, spaces, and punctuation. For example, abc-123 matches ABC 123. The search can return more than one reservation. Results are ordered newest first. If the response contains a non-null @next, request the URL as returned to get the next page.

4. Request optional reservation fields

The basic lookup returns the reservation details shown above. Add one or more projection names to include to request additional fields. You can separate names with commas or repeat the parameter.

ProjectionAdditional response fieldDetails
license_platelicense_plateLicense plate number, state, country, and plate history.
vehiclevehicleVehicle make, model, and color.
barcodebarcodeReservation barcode.

parker_phoneparker.phone_numberParker's phone number.
oversize_feepayment_info.oversize_fee, payment_info.oversize_fee_paidOversize fee amount and whether it was paid. Amounts are in cents.
Access to optional reservation data

Your account must have access to a projection to receive its fields. If you request a projection your account cannot access, the API ignores it and returns the basic reservation details. Contact your SpotHero integration representative if you need access to a projection.

For example, request the license plate, vehicle, and barcode:

GET https://integrations.staging.spothero.com/v2/facilities/{facility_id}/reservations/{rental_id}?include=license_plate,vehicle,barcode
Authorization: Bearer <access_token>
